4. Idioms





An idiom  is an expression, a word or a phrase that has a figurative meaning that is comprehended in regard to a common use of that expression between English speakers who forget the literal meaning of the words of which it is made.

There are estimated to be at least 25.000 idiomatic expressions in English language. the problem for non native speakers is thtat idioms do not translate well because they are often meaningless.

As you can see it is very difficult for a non English Speaker to remember all of this questions, so I try to identify some of them. If you know more idioms, please help me to fill this page!
